Awaiting confirmation
Over
the past three years, there has been concerted effort to
organise protest movements against market based reforms
under the misguided belief that people may some how be better
off without an increasing range of choices that trade and
economic liberalisation provides. There is a tendency among
many critics to blame everything on globalisation. The aim
of this event is to highlight the fact that globalisation
has the potential to benefit everyone. In view of the upcoming
WTO meeting in Doha in November, and the prospect of yet
another round of globalised demonstrations, this panel discussion
provides an opportunity to respond to these critics.
